Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

A 39-year-old Weymouth man has been arrested in connection with two armed robberies of local businesses since Tuesday March 7th.

 

Hull Police Department detectives arrested Michael P. Gabriel, of 133D Washington Street, Weymouth late Thursday evening.

 

The arrest came on the heels of information received by detectives that identified Gabriel as a possible suspect, that information and video obtained at the last robbery lead investigators to Gabriel

 

After investigation by detectives, working in conjunction with the Weymouth Police Department and with assistance of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department an arrest warrant was obtained for Gabriel and a search warrant for his residence. Detectives recovered a gun at the location. The gun turned out to be a pellet gun.

 

Hull Police Chief Richard Billings credited the involvement of the community in assisting detectives with this arrest.

 

“It was with the assistance of the community that has allowed us to identify a possible criminal suspect. We dedicated many resources to this investigation and the collaboration between the community and law enforcement brought it to a successful conclusion,” said Billings.

 

Gabriel is charged with two counts of armed robbery while being masked that occurred on the following dates at the following locations: March 7, Nantasket Liquors located at 379 Nantasket Ave and; March 13, Subway Restaurant located at 307 Nantasket Ave., The Suspect will be arraigned in Hingham District Court.
